Obama photos by Callie Shell

I was just browsing through the web when I came upon some touching and powerful photos of Obama taken by a photographer named Callie Shell. I love all the photos but here are some of my favorites.
"Obama listens from a back stairwell as he is introduced in Muscatine, Iowa. It was his second or third speech of the day. Unlike many of the politicians I have photographed in the past, I find it is easy to get a photograph of Obama alone. He lets his staff do their jobs and not fuss over him." Nov. 7, 2007. - Callie Shell

"While Obama goes over his speech in his head, Michelle and their daughters, Malia and Sasha, check him over. Several minutes later he walked out to announce he was running for President of the United States." Springfield, Ill., 2/10/2007. - Callie Shell

I really like this picture because it captures the many different faces of America in the audience.

"Senator Obama was doing press interviews by telephone in a holding room between events. Sometime later as he was getting ready to begin his event, he asked me if I was photographing his shoes. When I said yes, he told me that he had already had them resoled once since he entered the race a year earlier." Providence, R.I., 3/1/2008. - Callie Shell

Here are some more if you are interested.

I'm quite sad today. My doggie is sick.

My litte chihwawa had been acting wierd lately.......something was wrong with her. For the past month or so, she's been having these bouts where she's just really lazy, won't run or jump...Whenever I call her, she bends down, crawls to me and then pees on herself. All she wanted to do was sleep. When I try to lift her up, she yelps and whenever she sleeps her whole body shakes non stop....She just wasnt her normal playful, silly self..... the last time this happened was about a month ago, which only lasted a day, so I didn't think much of it then....but these past few days, it happened daily....I had some antibiotics left from her last visit to the vet so thinking that it was something that she just need to get out of her system,...guess what?! I gave her some antibiotics but it didn't go away...that was a no-no! I just felt helpless because I didn't know what was wrong with her.

....so, I took the morning off from work and took her to the vet cuz I ain't about to wake up and find a dead dog in my bed! Plus, I was really getting worried. Anyone who owns and loves thier pets will know how it feels when thier pets are sick.

So finally, the vet examined and took xrays of Chili......*sigh.....The vet found out that chili has arthritis in her upper back area. Normal vertebrae, like joints have a small pouch/space between the bones so you can move easily, but about 3 of Chili's vertebre just below her front legs are squeeze together where you can't even see the space between the bones. This was causing her pain when she moves, or jumps, and that is why she shakes so much, an indication that she is in pain/when dogs are in pain. The vet said that it is wierd she would have this problem since she's only 4-5 yrs old. The saddest part about this was that the vet said there is really nothing we can do except to give her pain and inflammatory medication. However, we can also help prevent it from getting worse by helping her avoid jumping up and down from beds, couches, etc. And if the medication does not work, we may have to get her surgery. The vet said that the surgery would be expensive and not really promising. Great...But luckily the vet said that it does not look like she will need surgery. YAY!! This was good news.
I was kind of choked up and almost teary thinking about what this poor dog was going through when the vet explained this to me.

Its sad because dogs can't tell us if they're in pain or not, I guess its just something that owners have to be more aware of.

curry!!!

I was craving chicken curry at work and I could think of the last hour of work was food especially curry - I lied, I think of food 24 hrs a day....So anyways, I did a little research on curry recipes and was on my way to a chinese market after work to get some ingredients for my curry.....After a few cans of coconut milk and coconut powder, I finally got the flavor I wanted that was similar to the restaurant... then voooi-la!
Yummy yummy yummy...soon to be inside my tummy.

kimster's wedding....lovliest wedding ever.

2 weeks ago, my buddy got married and I thought it was one of the most beautifuliest weddings I've been too. I thought the center piece was really nice and simple.

So during the afternoon at the groom's place, the bride and groom did their tea ceremony. And while they were preoccupied inside the house, I decided to have the boy take a picture of me outside someone's lawn...not a really good background...As you can see in the picture, I really suck ass with the artsy photographer stuff, what can I say, I'm a seamstress not a photographer!
The other day, I was trying to thinking of a new project to start on. I had already made a gazillion Factory Junkie signature bags (soon to be posted)...So, since I had some trims leftover and needed a leashes for my dogs, I made these new thingys..

I'm not fully satisfied with them though, they are just trial leashes...yes, I'm thaaat picky.

much randomness

So the computer has been out of commission for a while now, that is why I haven't been up to date on the blog...besides, I had been super busy with numerous things..like friend's wedding, bachelorette and working on my stuff....hey hey hey.Check out this huge ass spider I found crawling up the wall behind my t.v a few days ago! It was seriously the size of half my palm.....I thought it looked really cute and cool so I decided to spare its life, adopted it and named it Mikey. Mikey better becareful and not crawl on me while I sleep cuz I heard that the average person unintentionally eats 10 spiders while they are sleeping during thier lifetime. hmmm......I wonder why I haven't seen him lately...*shrugs...
